The Walker Art Center began looking into LEDs as a source for general lighting a few years ago, but was disappointed by the low output of first-generation LEDs.
Beginning last year, Taossunto agreed to consult and supply the Walker Art Center with second-generation, high-power LED lighting to test in their new facility.
John Cook, Vice President of Minneapolis architectural firm Hammel, Green, Abrahamson, approved the light quality and light output of Taossunto PAR 30 spotlights, which cleared the way for the Walker’s Director of Planning, Howard Oransky, to implement the test.
Pending successful outcome, the Walker plans to convert existing lighting to the energy-saving LED design.
